Revalidation by experience, skills refresher courses, Microlight to SEP rating training.

Are you looking to renew your rating, upskill or learn something new? Would you like to get back in the air after a break? Do you want to build confidence? Perhaps you need a check ride for a club, some differences or conversions, or even preparing for a proficiency check with an examiner? I can help you with all kinds of training and skills refresher courses.

Now offering SEP rating training and license endorsement. Train with me to gain your SEP rating for your NPPL.

What does this mean? If you currently have an NPPL(A) with a Microlight rating, you can now upgrade it to an SEP rating, with the appropriate training and endorsement by a part-fcl 945 instructor, without a skills test (but I will test you thoroughly throughout the course). The SEP rating allows you to fly aircraft (including microlights) up to 2000kg with a maximum of 4 occupants in UK airspace. My course is based on the old SSEA syllabus and covers all areas of flying heavier SEP aircraft, such as the PA28 or the Cessna 172. The syllabus includes flight planning, radio nav, general handling, TEMS, weights and balance and emergencies.  Interested in expanding your capabilities? Want to fly on more days? Proficiency check training

Coming back to flying after a break? Or maybe you don’t have enough hours to revalidate your SEP by experience? I’ll help you get ready for a proficiency check with an examiner.

Moving maps

New to the world of moving maps? I’ll help you learn how to use SkyDemon, Garmin Pilot or Foreflight safely and effectively, including how to integrate software and avionics, when and when not to use moving maps and what to do if it all goes wrong.

NPPL SEP Rating

The Microlight Rating allows you to fly modern, lightweight aircraft that are cost-effective and ideal for recreational flying, while the SEP Rating covers single-engine piston aircraft (up to 2,000 kg MTOW), such as the Piper Warrior, making it perfect for those moving up from microlights or returning to general aviation. I offer an in-depth SEP training programme aligned with the PPL syllabus. Expect at least 5 hours of flight training covering all relevant topics.
